Abstract
In the present work, performance of an Air-Jet Mill was studied. Although jet mill has several advantages but it is still an energy intensive process as only 2% - 5% of the energy supplied is used to create new surfaces. In the present work some trial runs are performed by varying the operating parameters of the jetmill. Product quality is the factor which determines whether determines whether a specific grinding technique is appropriate. The roduct of a jet mill is a fine powder with a well defined and narrow particle size distribution. The RPM and blower alue conditions were varied and the results were tabulated. The optimum conditions for the desired quality and production rate of the jet mill in the plant are determined.
